Beyoncé - MY HOUSE
Co-produced by Beyoncé and The-Dream, “MY HOUSE” was released as a closing credit song to the Renaissance film. Safe to say, audience members were pleasantly shocked when Beyoncé told them to “get the f*** up out my house.” This song evokes homecoming energy and is sure to get you pumped for the spring semester.
Burna Boy - Sittin’ on Top of The World (feat. 21 Savage)
Known as the “African Giant,” Burna Boy combines his Nigerian sound with American R&B to create this summer classic. Sampling the ‘90s hit “Top of the World” from Brandy, Burna is telling us that “it’s our time.” “Sittin’ on Top of the World” is the perfect confidence booster when walking to class.
Dua Lipa - Dance The Night
Dua Lipa gets another hit under her belt with her song “Dance The Night” for the Barbie movie. Her vocals glide effortlessly on this disco-inspired track and you can’t help but want to dance along. “Dance The Night” has a summery feel that will keep you energized for this semester.
Tate McRae - cut my hair
“cut my hair” is the first song off of Tate’s sophomore album “Think Later.” The song represents shedding one’s past self for a newfound confidence. If you want to change things up this semester, this song is perfect for you.
Nicki Minaj - Everybody (feat. Lil Uzi Vert)
Fresh off of Nicki’s new album “Pink Friday 2,” this track has already been dubbed a fan-favorite. “Everybody” is meant for the club with its high energy and earworm sample of “Move Your Feet” by Junior Senior. It’s impossible not to get hyped up from this song.
Jumping back into a new semester isn’t easy. Maybe you wish you had one more week of vacation. It might be hard to get back into a steady routine. Hopefully this playlist will give you all the confidence you need to tackle this semester head on. Hope you have a great semester ahead!
