The past week saw the following outcomes for University at Albany sports:

Wednesday, Feb. 14:

Women’s lacrosse fell to Boston College 15-7. The Great Danes took 18 shots, with 16 shots on goal, recording 19 turnovers. Grace McCauley led in goals with three, and Katie Pascale in assists with two. Goalkeeper Grace Cincebox recorded 14 saves. UAlbany fell to a record of 0-2 with the loss.


Thursday, Feb. 15:

Men’s basketball beat New Jersey Institute of Technology 83-58. The Great Danes shot 53.3% from the field on 32-60 shooting, going 10-23 from the 3-point line and 9-15 from the free throw line. Tyler Bertram led in scoring for UAlbany with 20 points, followed by Amar’e Marshall with 18, and Sebastian Thomas with 16. Thomas led in assists with nine, and Muneer Newton in rebounds with 11. The Great Danes improved to 12-13, with a 4-6 record in the America East.


Women’s basketball beat NJIT 38-36. The Great Danes shot 30.6% from the field on 15-49 shooting, going 2-14 from beyond the arc and 6-14 from the charity stripe. Kayla Cooper led in scoring with 19 points, and in rebounds with 11. Sarah Karpell led in assists with three. UAlbany improved to 21-3, with a 10-1 record in the America East.


Saturday, Feb. 17:

Women’s basketball beat University of Maryland, Baltimore County 58-56. The Great Danes shot 41.3% from the field on 19-46 shooting, going 4-19 from beyond the arc and 8-15 from the free throw line. Kayla Cooper led in scoring with 16 points and Deja Evans followed with 10. Evans led in rebounds with 13, and Sarah Karpell in assists with five. The Great Danes improved to 22-3, and 11-1 in America East play.


Men’s basketball fell to UMBC 80-75. The Great Danes shot 42.2% from the field on 27-64 shooting, going 9-25 from the 3-point line and 12-15 from the charity stripe. Sebastian Thomas led UAlbany in scoring with 30 points, and in assists with five. Aaron Reddish contributed 21 points while leading in rebounds with 10. The Great Danes fell to 12-14, with a 4-7 record in America East play.


Men’s lacrosse fell to Colgate 11-10 in the season opener. The Great Danes took 34 shots, with 23 shots on goal, recording 27 turnovers. Silas Richmond led UAlbany in goals with four. Goalkeeper Landon Whitney recorded 13 saves. The Great Danes now sit at a record of 0-1 to start the season.


Women’s lacrosse fell to Fairfield 15-10. The Great Danes took 19 shots, with 16 shots on goal, recording 25 turnovers. Katie Pascale led in goals with three, and in assists with two. Goalkeeper Grace Cincebox recorded eight saves. UAlbany now sits at a record of 0-3.
