The past week saw the following outcomes for University at Albany sports:

Wednesday, March 27:

Softball beat UMass 3-0. The Great Danes recorded six hits. Mary Kate Murray, Sara Anderson, and Deanna Grahek each recorded one RBI. Wendi Hammond pitched a complete game, recorded six strikeouts, and earned the win. UAlbany improved to a record of 10-6.


Softball beat UMass 10-5. The Great Danes recorded 13 hits. Sara Anderson led UAlbany with five RBI’s. Kate Powers pitched a complete game, recorded two strikeouts, and earned the win. UAlbany improved to a record of 11-6. 


Saturday, March 30:

Women’s lacrosse beat Bryant 14-11. The Great Danes took 33 shots, with 23 shots on goal, and recorded 14 turnovers. Grace McCauley led UAlbany in goals with six, and Katie Pascale led in assists with four. Goalkeeper Grace Cincebox recorded 13 saves. The Great Danes now stand at a record of 4-7, and 3-0 in America East play.


Men’s lacrosse beat UMBC 14-13. The Great Danes took 36 shots, with 23 shots on goal, and recorded 16 turnovers. Ryan Doherty led in goals with four, and Silas Richmond led in assists with two. Goalkeeper Landon Whitney recorded 10 saves. UAlbany now stands at a record of 4-5, and 3-0 in America East play.


Baseball fell to Maine 8-4. The Great Danes recorded six hits and one error. Levi McAllister, Luke Filippi, and Ryan Ferremi each recorded one RBI. Ryan Pittz pitched 2.1 innings, recorded one strikeout, and was charged with the loss. UAlbany fell to a record of 1-16, and 1-2 in America East play.


Baseball beat Maine 17-7. The Great Danes recorded 12 hits and two errors. John Vitucci led UAlbany with three RBI’s. Owen Birkman pitched 6.0 innings, recorded three strikeouts, and earned the win. The Great Danes now stand at a record of 2-16, and 2-2 in America East play.


Softball beat Maine 6-4. The Great Danes recorded eight hits and one error. Maddi Petrella led UAlbany with two RBI’s. Wendi Hammond pitched a complete game, recorded seven strikeouts, and earned the win. The Great Danes improved to a record of 12-6, and 1-0 in America East play.


Softball beat Maine 6-0. The Great Danes recorded nine hits and two errors. Caitlyn Mitros, Morgan Petty, and Mary Kate Murray each recorded two RBI’s. Kate Powers pitched a complete game, recorded four strikeouts, and earned the win. UAlbany now stands at a record of 13-6, and 2-0 in America East play.


Men’s and women’s track and field both placed second at UConn’s “The Dogfight.” Hassan Abidi placed first in the men’s 1,500m with a mark of 3:57.76. Shantae Pryce, Dominique Clarke, Shenequa Vassell, and Jazmen Newberry placed first in the women’s 4x100m relay with a mark of 46.72. Lucas Casab, Rajay Morris, Christian Quinn, and MarcSean Montero placed first in the men’s 4x100m relay with a mark of 43.70. Clarke placed first in the women’s 100m with a mark of 11.65. Shak Williams placed first in the men’s 100m with a mark of 10.29. Newberry placed first in the women’s 200m with a mark of 23.80. Jared Rogalski placed first in the men’s 5,000m with a mark of 14:38.53.
