UAlbany has announced that its study abroad program has opened applications for Summer and Fall 2022 in an email sent out to students last Wednesday.
“At this time, only a limited number of programs and destinations will be available…the process of review and approval to re-open programs and destinations will be ongoing,” said
Renée DeCelle, the director of Education Abroad at UAlbany.
While UAlbany awaits approval by the SUNY System Office of Global Affairs, DeCelle confirmed that students will have to acknowledge that study abroad programs may not resume as planned due to COVID-19. Registered students will receive an email if their program is affected.
Students looking to participate will be required to be vaccinated per the student international travel policy on the Office of Risk Management and Compliance website.
The Sharing Travel Stories program was hosted by the Student Association Department of Academic Affairs in collaboration with the Education Abroad office, and allowed students to bond over travel stories and international foods. This was an effort to encourage student participation in the program.
More programs are planned for this upcoming week, including the Study Abroad Informational on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center Multi-Purpose Room.
