The Men’s Great Danes have officially lost their first player by virtue of transfer this offseason.
Antonio Rizzuto, the team’s 2020-21 captain, announced via Twitter and Instagram Sunday that he will be continuing his college career “at Towson University next season.”
He was 1 of 8 UAlbany players to enter the transfer portal after the program departed from longtime coach Will Brown.
A 6’3 junior guard, he averaged 12.5 points and 29.5 minutes per game in 2020-21. This
performance netted him a second-team all-conference selection in the American East.
“Thank you to Coach Brown and the rest of the Albany coaches for helping me grow into the
man and player I am today,” Rizzuto said in his announcement. “Thank you Mr. Benson for
allowing me to represent Albany.”
