This past week saw the following results for University at Albany sports:

Kendall Harris (#22) recorded 14 kills on Friday(10/10) in a victorious effort for Volleyball.

Tuesday, October 7

Volleyball defeated the rival Siena Saints 3-1. Kendall Harris stole the show for the Great Danes, recording an impressive stat line of 15 kills, 18 digs and 2 aces. Shynelle Woroniuk tallied 14 kills, and Maria Olga Siapani notched an impressive 40 assists. 


Friday, October 10

Volleyball picked up a conference win against the NJIT Highlanders by a score of 3-1. Kendall Harris put in an impressive shift, notching a stat line of 14 kills, 8 digs, 4 blocks, and 2 aces. Gabriella Karman recorded 12 kills and 9 blocks and Maria Olga Siapani ran the show by recording 45 assists.


Field Hockey recorded yet another shutout by defeating the Bryant Bulldogs 3-0. Jette Kurz, Tessa Overgoor and Emma Staron all scored goals for the Great Danes. Sophia Schoonmaker and Lillian Willis each notched assists. Emma Peeters played the full game in net, and pitched another shutout. 


Men’s Soccer was defeated by the Bryant Bulldogs 5-0. Ivar Gissurarson and Alexander Clive both recorded shots. 2 Great Danes played the full 90 minutes. 


Both the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams recorded 2nd place finishes at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds. Arianna Verardi was the highest placed women's finisher coming in 4th place with a time of 19:36.44. In total, the scoring gap for the women’s team was 1:21.08. On the men’s side, Owen Stachlik led the way with a time of 25:59.46 good enough for 13th place. The Men’s scoring gap was 17.61 seconds. 



Sunday, October 12th 

Field Hockey won yet again, as they prevailed over the Northeastern Huskies 2-1. Jenna Zunic and Mara Küskes each recorded 1 goal. Indy van Ek recorded the lone UAlbany assist. The Great Danes outshot the Huskies 17-8 in total and 8-2 in shots on goal. 


Women's Soccer dropped a 3-1 decision to the New Hampshire Wildcats. Tamia Nelson scored the lone goal for the Great Danes. Nelson, Selma Elverum, Mariella Fulcher and Madison Hnis recorded 2 shots each. Despite this, the Wildcats had a 15-11 advantage in shots. In net, Claudia Volino recorded 4 saves.
