The past week saw the following outcomes for University at Albany sports:

Tuesday, March 19:

Women’s lacrosse fell to Syracuse 20-11. The Great Danes took 29 shots, with 19 shots on goal, recording 24 turnovers. Katie Pascale led in goals with three, and Megan Dineen led in assists with two. Goalkeeper Grace Cincebox recorded 12 saves. UAlbany fell to a record of 2-7.


Men’s lacrosse fell to Virginia 16-10. The Great Danes took 46 shots, with 24 shots on goal, recording 18 turnovers. Silas Richmond led in goals with seven, and Ryan Doherty and Graydon Hogg led in assists with two each. Goalkeeper Landon Whitney recorded 11 saves. UAlbany fell to an overall record of 2-5, and 1-0 in America East play.


Thursday, March 21:

Women’s basketball fell to Colgate 64-50 in the first round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. The Great Danes shot 36.4% from the field on 20-55 shooting, going 3-26 from the 3-point arc and 7-11 from the free throw line. Kayla Cooper led UAlbany in scoring with 23 points, and Sarah Karpell followed with 12. Cooper led in rebounds with eight, and Lilly Phillips led in assists with five. The Great Danes finished their season with an overall record of 25-7, going 13-3 in America East play.


Friday, March 22:

Baseball fell to UMass Lowell 10-2. The Great Danes recorded four hits and one error. Jared Toby and Luke Filippi each drove in one run. Owen Birkman pitched 3.2 innings, recorded four strikeouts, and was charged with the loss. UAlbany fell to a record of 0-15, with a 0-1 record in conference play.


Baseball beat UMass Lowell 11-1. The Great Danes recorded 10 hits and one error. Luke Filippi recorded two RBI’s. Matthew Mariano pitched 7.0 innings, recorded three strikeouts, and earned the win. UAlbany now stands at a record of 1-15, with a 1-1 record in conference play.


Saturday, March 23:

Men’s lacrosse beat Vermont 13-11. The Great Danes took 39 shots, with 29 shots on goal, recording 18 turnovers. Silas Richmond led in goals with four, and Amos Whitcomb, Ben Wimmer, and Daniel Kesselring led in assists with two each. Goalkeeper Landon Whitney recorded nine saves. UAlbany now stands at an overall record of 3-5, with a 2-0 record in America East play.


Sunday, March 24:

Women’s lacrosse beat Vermont 17-7. The Great Danes took 33 shots, with 24 shots on goal, recording 13 turnovers. Grace McCauley led in goals with five, and Katie Pascale and Mikaela Mooney led in assists with four each. Goalkeeper Grace Cincebox recorded seven saves. UAlbany now stands at an overall record of 3-7, with a 2-0 record in America East play.
