As announced by the America East Conference on Thursday, University at Albany was picked to finish sixth in the preseason coaches poll.

Entering the second season of the program, under the guidance of head coach Dwayne Killings, the Great Danes placed sixth with 25 points. Seven first-place votes went to Vermont, who topped the list with 63 points.

The Catamounts were trailed closely by new America East foe Bryant, who came in with 58 points and the remaining two first-place votes. UMass Lowell (47) placed third, followed by Binghamton (42) and UMBC (40). Following UAlbany are New Hampshire (23), NJIT (14), and Maine (12).

On Nov. 7, UAlbany will face Towson on the road for the start of the 2022-23 campaign. Afterwards, the team travels to Immaculata on Nov. 8 before returning home on Nov. 12 to play in the Albany Cup. The team's first home game of the year is set for Nov. 14 against Union at Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC).

Even though UAlbany had no preseason All-Conference selections, they’ve found transfer portal additions in the form of senior forward Gerald Drumgoole, Jr., a former 3-star Pitt commit, and graduate guard Sarju Patel from Cornell.
