Earlier this month, Crumbl Cookies opened up in Latham, New York. Crumbl is located about 15 minutes away from campus and is accessible by CDTA or by car. On Saturday, April 15 I decided to try the four original, delicious, distinct cookie options for myself. Every week, there are new flavors introduced at Crumbl Cookie and there is always something new to try.
Crumbl was founded by two cousins, Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley. They were passionate about baking, but couldn’t seem to find flavors that lived up to their expectations. They decided to take their baking to the public and started experimenting with different flavors to see what their customers would like. More on Crumbl Cookies can be found on the Crumbl website.
Regular cookies cost $4.25 and mini cookies cost $1.50. A four pack box of large gourmet cookies costs $16.49, and a pack of six costs $22.99.
The four original cookie flavors being served on Saturday, April 15 were Original Milk Chocolate, Cinnamon Roll, Biscoff, and Strawberry.
Original Milk Chocolate: 8/10. The cookie was very sweet, but tasted like any normal chocolate chip cookie. Though it wasn’t the best cookie out of the four listed, it still gets points as a timeless and memorable cookie.
Cinnamon Roll: 10/10. This cookie was very sweet, hence the cinnamon, chewy, and very satisfying to my sweet tooth. It was reminiscent of a Cinnabon due to its sweetness and cinnamon flavor.
Biscoff: 9.5/10. The Biscoff cookie was very similar to Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. It was toasty and cinnamon flavored. Though I have never had a Biscoff cookie, its similarity to the cereal made me feel as if I’ve been eating this for ages.
Strawberry: 7/10. The cream cheese frosting made up most of the taste on the Strawberry cookie. The frosting tasted more like vanilla than anything else, but it was still smooth and melted in my mouth. It loses points because the frosting masks any strawberry flavor I might have otherwise noticed.
My experience at Crumbl Cookies and tasting the four distinctive and appetizing flavors was one to remember. I give the place as a whole a 10/10. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good cookie.
