Peeling
Crumbling
Blistering
Red
And almost blue
I’m Closer to my veins
Than I am to you
Peeling…
Away all that remains of my dignity
Yet still blocking entrances to any
Tranquility
Crumbling…
Away any thought of remorse
Or reappraise
Blistering..
Blowing up the bubble of your existence
So you no longer seek me
Or need me
Biting…
Even though the red’s started to show
I’m peeling back skin
Watching myself unfold
Blue..
Because the beating, biting, blistering
Doesn’t change the thoughts I used to have
Of beautiful you
Ideally, you exist in my memory
Never having any traces or traits of vanity
Yet, you did
In reality
And all that’s left is for the peeling
To become pouring.
