Mother Daughter Mother

By: Ivette Rodriguez

Mom, if you were my daughter

You’d be the most loved in the world

Flower crowns adorning your pretty face

And a smile decorating it all

If you were my daughter

Home would always be safe

I’d keep you in my arms

And you’d never want to stray

You’d be the light in my life

And me your joy

Every night we’d watch a movie to bed

And every morning I’d put the crown on your head

And I'd tell you everyday how precious you are not just to me

But the World

Because you are special, and precious, and my entire world

Mother if you were my daughter…

You’d have never known that despair
