Coming off their sixth postseason NCAA tournament appearance, the University of Albany women’s basketball team isn’t expected to slow down.
Along with an expectation to win the America East according to the conference’s preseason poll, the Great Danes earned a ranking of #19 from College Insider’s Preseason Mid-Major Ranking Poll.
Having won their exhibition match on Monday at Saint Rose 59-43, UAlbany begins season play this Friday against Merrimack.
This will open a season full of home games taking place at the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. With SEFCU Arena being closed for construction, HVCC will be this year’s home location for all but one matchup, a Nov. 19 game versus Colgate at Saint Rose’s Events and Athletics Center.
